Touch Up (2007) — Mother Mother
Posted 9/10/25I love this album. SUE ME!!! I don't care if people think it's cringe, because I think it's awesome.
I can't speak to the rest of Mother Mother's discography, but I think this album is great. I've had it on repeat since I first listened. It's one of the loosest albums I've heard, but I disagree with people who think it's a lazy album. I think it takes a great deal effort and skill to be so free.
This is one of those albums I couldn't help but love. I found it totally captivating. It's a real solid body of work, even when it gets a bit messy or disjointed. It almost felt like a precursor to Big Thief's sound on Dragon New Warm Mountain.
It's just a really fun listen all the way through and an album I get excited to listen to. There is so much whimsy and beautiful nonsense living within the walls of this one. It's a whole world to discover.
